Hope you find a better vacation that will be more conducive to the experience you desire. If only you had worked with a travel agent that knew NCL and their product. They could have informed you about what "issues" you were going to have Gove your family's proclivities. And, of course the agent could have given you a warning about what happens if bad weather is encountered. It's not like you have to get off the ship as soon as it docks! Getting ashore early is an OPTION that I sometimes take advantage of and appreciate.
How much does it cost to go on Norwegian Prima?
Very comfortable regular lounge chairs are present for sitting up to read a book. The refreshment stations have hot water, cold water, tea, a tank of water with orange slices, fresh oranges, and an assortment of teas. We really loved the larger bathroom in this Club Balcony that contained a bathtub. I note this cabin number in case someone is looking for a tub/shower combination.
More about Norwegian Prima
With so much going on, the ship can -- and does -- get loud. Crowds, too, are noticeable, especially at peak periods around dinner and at show times, when everyone is clamoring for the same things at the same time. Not a head scratcher to me. Pool toys are not allowed on almost all cruise lines. Our entire cruise was booked through my daughter who is a seasoned, and very good travel agent. For any cruises listed, Cruise Critic does not guarantee any specific rates or prices.

The Haven Premium was a bit to much for us on this cruise so we did a Club Balcony Suite on this cruise. Two cruises ago, November 2021, we did the nicest Haven Cabin (The H2 Haven Deluxe Owners Suite) with our two (2) adult children. That was our 43rd wedding anniversary. It was also wonderful to have our kids joining us. The older we get, the better we enjoy family and friends joining us when we cruise. Norwegian Prima cabins offer options of all types, from cozy solo interiors to large family suites.
How much does it cost to go on Norwegian Escape?
You really have to squeeze your way to a seat. Hopefully, that will be lifted in the future. Years ago, these cabins on smaller ships were called Mini-Suites, and they had a curtain you could use to separate the beds from the couch area. Nice for when someone wants to sleep and the other wants to stay up reading. There is no such curtain on the Escape. If you didn’t know already, the walls are magnetic, and I brought magnetized hooks to put on the walls.
This is a multiuse space, with seats that can be removed to turn this spot into a late-night dance club. Fans of live music won't want to miss Syd's Pour House, which has nightly shows, including a full rendition of Fleetwood Mac's Rumours album. I have gone with large groups and just made sure myself and my immediate family were with me. I would not want to keep up with 18 people all at the same time for dining and getting off the ship for excursions. When I went there on the Sunday, (the second day) I discovered that they did not have a regular menu selection like the regular stores have, which okay, I get it…but had I known that, I would not have PAID for that drink package. It was a treat for my birthday…I could have saved the money and just gotten coffee at the buffet.
Norwegian Bliss vs. Norwegian Encore

This was billed as an off-road adventure of 45 minutes, leading to Coconut Cove Beach. We met in the Escape theatre and received guidance from there. I would note that the walk to the safari-like buses is pretty long, probably 2 miles. Pam’s watch registered over 4 miles of steps at the end of the day. Our open-air bus was the last one in line so it might be less for other travelers. We climbed on and discovered that the aisle is extremely narrow.
Norwegian Encore Deck Plans Offer Adult-Only Relaxation and Family-Friendly Fun
As time has gone on, we have wanted more of our Cruising Experience. We started with the most inexpensive inside cabin during our honeymoon 43 years ago. Five years ago, we found the NCL Haven and loved it.
There are also USB outlets by both bedsides. I brought a 12-foot extension cord and a cruise approved power strip so I could power a little fan by my bed. Most of you probably know not to leave things plugged in while you’re out of the cabin. Expect the cabin steward to unplug if you forget. Norwegian Prima cabins to avoid include any room above or around the ship's theater, which doubles as a night club and can be loud late into the night. Norwegian Prima's modern, sophisticated cabins are a cut above what you'll find on the cruise line's other ships.
The Fleetwood Mac Rumours set they did one night was superb. In regards to Cagneys, next time try the filet. We also have had some so so experiences with Cagneys in the past. Was disappointed as well with both the prime rib and the ribeye. On our cruise last month wife and I both decided to order the filet. Best meal we have ever had at Cagneys.
We just got off the Bliss and they had both a Cavern Club and a District Brewhouse. All three have live entertainment but more limited piano player / vocalist type entertainment at the District Brewhouse on cruises I have been on. In regards to entertainment on the Breakaway, we agree with you on the beer house. We thought the best entertainment on the ship was at Syd Norman's. The band that was playing there when we sailed a year ago was fantastic.
The terrain is extremely uneven stone so you have to step carefully to keep from falling. Initially, the highway was smooth, but we soon turned off onto unpaved territory. Our group was a cheerful bunch, and no one seemed to mind the bumpy ride. Our guide was super enthusiastic and did her best to speak over the wind and motor noise.
No pool toys are allowed on almost all cruise lines. It does cause a problem with water on the desk. I am sorry you didn't have an enjoyable cruise but most of these things are not things that NCL can manage or control. I have to say I don't really understand complaining about elevators.
Food ranges from French Fries for $6 all the way up to Double Cheeseburger - $16. There are heated tile loungers upon which you stretch out, wrapped in your bathrobe. When you open your eyes, you see a full panorama of the ocean. Next, you may choose to go into the sauna or the steam room or the salt room or the snow room.
Norwegian Prima stands apart because of its massive Haven suite complex, as well as a Studio area devoted to solo travelers. Both come with private access and areas to mingle with fellow passengers. The downside of this is the activities cut into the pool deck, which has a tiny pool and only a small amount of space to lounge.
Super handy for hanging hats or damp bathing suits or anything else you might need to access quickly. Remember to push down your card so you will have power. Also, make sure you indicate a Do Not Disturb or Makeup Room choice so your cabin steward can keep up the room. We left a substantial tip for our cabin steward. Prima additionally offers a buffet and included pub (with comfort food), as well as a large number of specialty restaurants that run the gamut from sushi to Mediterranean and Italian or hibachi. Indulge Food Hall is a concept introduced on Norwegian Prima.
